Echinodorus ‘Indian Red’ is one of the prettiest sword plants available. It’s leaves range from green to rust yellow to dark red. The top of the leaves twists, making this sword plant one of a kind.
The Indian Red Sword propagates by rhizomes or adventitious shoots that grow off of leaves. A prolific plant under most circumstances, the development of a new leaf once a week is not uncommon.

Sword plants are bottom feeders, so only plant the roots, Not the plant itself (where the green starts) in your substrate. Planting this plant too deep can cause melting. Adding fertilizer tabs a couple of inches from the roots is suggested.
